Burger King Collectibles

Burger King collectibles have become increasingly sought after in recent years – and the burger chain now produce almost as many fast food giveaways as their great rival McDonald’s. One of the first BK collectibles was the ‘Magical Burger King’ doll from the early 80s, a cheery faced regal magician who has now disappeared from the corporate face of BK advertising (unlike Ronald McDonald, who is still going strong – just!). A mint condition Magical Burger King figure complete in his original full colour box is currently worth up to $150 on the growing collector’s market.

Online auction sites like eBay are great places to start picking up BK collectibles – but be warned, some prices are unbelievably high. Recently one hopeful eBay vendor was even trying to sell the entire washroom facilities from a closed Burger King restaurant along Route 44 in Connecticut! Perhaps unsurprisingly, this ultimate BK collectible failed to reach its asking price. One of the more recent BK in store promotions has been for Pokemon (‘Catch ‘em Here! … Only at Burger King Restaurants’). BK produced 57 different toys including 2 versions of the ever lovable Pikachu – making 59 toys in all. A complete set in their original boxes is worth about $50 on the current market, although this price could rise in future.

Expect to pay a similar amount for the Burger King UK promotion which saw a set of 10 Simpsons figures, a comic book and a special meal box being given away. Worth slightly less, say about $40, is the complete set of glasses BK manufactured to help promote the 1983 Star Wars movie ‘Return of the Jedi’. Another great fast food collectible is the special limited edition bottle that Coca Cola issued to mark the 10th anniversary of their relationship with BK. The bottle was only circulated internally at the two companies but a small number have found their way out on to the open market. A sealed bottle in its original box is easily worth $75 these days, especially as it attracts Coca Cola collectors as well as BK memorabilia hunters.
